Dense text, read by eye
A patient leaflet runs to several thousand words in small type. Every revision is read against the approved text from the first word to the last, by someone who has read it many times before.
Artwork verification for pharmaceutical teams
LabArt reads the approved labeling and the printed artwork, aligns them word by word, and shows your reviewers exactly where they differ. Leaflets, cartons and blisters, including scanned and closed PDF documents.
Why it exists
Approved text moves through controlled systems until it reaches the printer’s file. Then someone reads it, in full, against the original. LabArt does that reading itself. It finds the differences, marks them on both documents and hands them to a person for the final decision, so a check that took hours takes minutes.
Without LabArt, the check looks like this.
A patient leaflet runs to several thousand words in small type. Every revision is read against the approved text from the first word to the last, by someone who has read it many times before.
Print-ready files often carry outlined or rasterised text. Nothing can be copied or searched, so the check falls back to a person with two printouts and a ruler.
Every correction round produces another file to compare. Each comparison is only as reliable as the attention available that afternoon, and none of it leaves a record.
How it works
The approved labeling and the artwork, as PDF. Pick leaflet, carton or blister.
Pages with a trustworthy text layer are read directly. The rest go through layout detection and optical recognition, rotated panels and columns included.
The two texts are matched word by word. Layout changes are ignored; content changes are not.
Findings are listed and shown side by side. A reviewer checks each one and downloads the marked-up PDFs.
Workflows
Each workflow knows what it is looking at. A carton has panels and a blister has repeats, so layout is never mistaken for a finding.
The approved leaflet text against the printed leaflet artwork, across every fold and column. Also the general workflow for any two PDF documents.
Labeling text against the carton dieline, panel by panel, including rotated side and end panels.
Labeling text against blister or foil artwork, where the same text repeats across the sheet.
Two versions of the same carton, so a change round is verified without going back to the source text.
Two versions of a blister or foil, with repeated panels matched to each other.
Anything that is not a carton or a blister goes through the Leaflet workflow: any two PDF documents that should say the same thing. The same engine serves Technical Operations for Word documents, quality agreements, SOPs and reports, and Legal for contract review.
Review
LabArt does not remove the reviewer. It removes the reading. Every finding is checked by a person, and the decision on the artwork stays with them; the automation narrows their attention to the few places that need it.
The review screen puts each finding in context and produces marked-up versions of both documents, ready to send on.
S3 marks labeling text ‘sight’ that appears as ‘site’ in the artwork.

In production
LabArt replaced the commercial comparison tool WinMedica had used until then. Three departments moved over, and on the leaflets, cartons, blisters, agreements and contracts they handle every day it has since outperformed the tool it replaced.
